• Accutane & Spironolactone: Stop Accutane for 1 year and Spironolactone for 6 months before your session, as they affect skin healing and pigment retention.
• Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: You cannot receive treatment while pregnant or breastfeeding due to unknown risks of pigment absorption.
• Botox & Fillers: Avoid Botox or fillers in the treatment area for 4 weeks before and after to prevent shape distortion.
• Retinol & Tretinoin: Stop retinol-based skincare 4 weeks before and Tretinoin 6 weeks before, as they speed up skin regeneration and prevent proper pigment retention.
• Harsh Skincare Products: Avoid exfoliators, bar soaps, and witch hazel for 4 weeks before treatment; use gentle cleansers like Cetaphil or CeraVe instead to keep skin in optimal condition.
• Chemical Peels & Acids: No peels, glycolic acid, Vitamin C, or fish oil for 2 weeks before, as they trigger skin regeneration and interfere with healing.
• Sun Exposure & Tanning: Avoid direct sun, tanning beds, and excessive UV exposure 2 weeks before, as tanned skin can heal unpredictably.
• Blood Thinners & Stimulants: Avoid alcohol, ibuprofen, caffeine, and blood thinners 24-48 hours prior to minimize excessive bleeding during the procedure.
• Exercise: Do not work out 24 hours before treatment, as increased blood flow can affect pigment retention.
• Keloid Scarring: If you are prone to keloids, you are not eligible for permanent makeup, as the risk of scarring is too high.
-
• Brow Treatments: No waxing 1 week prior or tinting 2 weeks prior; we recommend letting us shape your brows during your session.
• Sparse Brows: If you have minimal natural brow hair, hair-stroke tattoos may look flat—combo or powder brows may be better for you.
-
• Lip Prep: Exfoliate daily and moisturize to ensure smooth, hydrated lips for the best results.
• Cold Sores: If you’ve had cold sores, consult your doctor first as the tattooing process can trigger an outbreak. Your doctor can prescribe an antiviral medication, which we highly recommend taking before and after your appointment to reduce the risk.
• Skin Condition: If you have chapped lips, acne, or any lip irritation, reschedule to avoid complications—contact us to avoid no-show fees.
-
• Contacts & Glasses: No contacts during or 24 hours after your procedure; wear glasses instead.
• No Eye Makeup: Avoid eye makeup and Latisse 3 weeks prior to prevent irritation. Latisse stimulates lash growth, which increases skin sensitivity and can cause excessive bleeding or irritation during the procedure. Discontinue use 3 weeks before your appointment for the best results.
• Lash Extensions & Lifts: Remove lash extensions at least 2 days before treatment to avoid any glue residue interfering with the procedure. Avoid lash lifts 1 week before, as they temporarily alter the natural shape of your lash line, which can affect eyeliner placement.
-
If you have any medical condition that may affect healing, increase infection risk, or impact the procedure, you must provide a doctor’s note clearing you for treatment. This includes conditions such as diabetes, epilepsy, autoimmune disorders, high/low blood pressure, hemophilia, recent chemotherapy/radiation, glaucoma, or skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis in the treatment area. If you are unsure whether your condition requires clearance, contact us before booking. Failure to provide medical clearance when required will result in appointment cancellation and deposit forfeiture.
-
If you have prior cosmetic tattooing, you must send photos for approval before booking. If approved, you will need to book as a new client rather than a touch-up, as we do not work over other artists' tattoos.
-
Touch ups are an important part of the process. They are mandatory at the 6 - 8 week mark for all services to ensure optimal results.
aftercare
-
DAY OF SERVICE
After the procedure, gently blot the area with a clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid. Repeat this step every 5 minutes until secretion has ceased. Removing this fluid prevents hardening of the service site.
DAYS 1 - 7
Gently wash the area each morning and night with water and an unscented soap (ex. Cetaphil).
Rub the area in a smooth motion for 10 seconds and rinse with water, ensuring that all soap is rinsed away.
To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue. DO NOT use any products containing exfoliants or acids (ex. Glycolic, Lactic, or AHA).
Apply a tiny, rice-grain amount of aftercare ointment as recommended. Repeat this step 3 times a day with a cotton swab and spread it evenly across treated area.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS

Schedule lip fillers, go tanning or undergo any chemical treatments until your lips are completely healed.
Use saunas, steam rooms or swim for about 1 week.
